Sep 15, 2008 : ViaWest to Open 16th Data Center
This will mark the fifth ViaWest data center at that location, and the sixth in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area.
Scheduled to open in the late fourth quarter of 2008, the new ViaWest facility will increase the company's usable raised floor capacity to more than 260,000 square feet and further solidifies its status as the largest privately-held provider of outsourced data center space in North America.
The data center is being constructed with enhanced security and specialized power systems that are designed to deliver a dedicated high density infrastructure environment.
Like all ViaWest facilities, the data center will be staffed with experienced engineers working around the clock, offering customers high availability network connectivity.
"We recently completed the acquisition of Dataside in March of 2008, and the construction of our sixth Dallas-area data center is a testament to our market value and momentum," says Roy Dimoff, chairman and CEO of ViaWest. "This latest facility speaks to the company's strength in the industry, and with the caliber of employees and staff we have in every region, I am confident we can continue to drive aggressive growth, quarter after quarter."
In addition to the six Dallas-area data centers, ViaWest's national footprint also includes four enterprise-class data centers in Denver, two in Salt Lake City, as well as one in Austin, Provo, Las Vegas, and Portland.
The Denver-based company provides colocation, managed hosting solutions and comprehensive services to mid-sized and enterprise level businesses.
The company was recently included among the nation's fastest growing private companies in the 2008 Inc. 5000 list, ranking at #2605.
