📅 September 12, 2008 - Data center, colocation and managed services provider Expedient (expedient.com ) announced earlier this week that it is holding its annual Pittsburgh Tech Fair on September 18 at its new Pittsburgh data center.

Although the press release gives the impression that this is an annual event, on the company website it seems to describe the event as more of a celebration for its newest data center launch.

Located at 1 Allegheny Center Mall, the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast followed by presentations by virtualization solutions provider VMware and EMC.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to exploe the new facility with formal tours as well as question and answer periods with the presenters.

Not unlike other networking events, Expedient will conclude the event with a fun and casual opportunity to schmooze with fellow attendees. In this case, at PNC Park to watch a Pittsburgh Pirates versus Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game where lunch will also be provided.

The addition of Expedient's Allegheny Center facility was announced in May as one of two recently completed growth projects. According to the company's most recent announcement, the expansion increased the company's data center space by 24,000 square feet. This new facility will also be included in Expedient's annual SAS70 audit to ensure it's up to par with Expedient's nine other data centers.

In August, Expedient completed the fourth phase of its $2 million Cleveland data center expansion, adding 3,800 square feet and 90 tons of cooling to its current 450 tons. The company says, on its website, that it will be holding an event later this month in celebration of this expansion.

Expedient belongs to the Continental Broadband (continentalbroadband.com) Internet data provider group owned by Landmark Communications (landmark.com), a diverse media group that includes newspapers, television broadcasting, cable TV programming and electronic publishing.

📅 Feb 5, 2008 - Expedient to Expand Facility - Managed data network services provider Expedient (expedient.com ) announced on Monday that it is investing more than $1 million in an expansion initiative within its Cleveland, Ohio area data center, located in the suburb of Garfield Heights. The expansion is scheduled to be completed by April. Expedient says the investment supports its growth curve, which has been in progression since early last year.
