Jul 10, 2008 : Comodo Takes Pain Out of PCI

📅 July 10, 2008 - Certification Authority and security company Comodo has announced a new information risk and compliancy solution called "Painless PCI," a free web-based wizard that provides step-by-step, guidance for completing the ever important PCI Self Assessment Questionnaire.

With this offer, according to Comodo, eMerchants can better achieve compliance with a personalized guide to assist them through the tricky PCI questionnaire and Data Security Standard. According to research firm Green Sheet (greensheet.ca), smaller merchants comprise over 90% of all merchants, although their needs of are often overlooked when it comes to risk management and compliance solutions.

Painless PCI was specially tailored to Level 3 and 4 merchants who conduct up to a million annual transactions. "PCI compliance solutions are typically designed for the larger enterprise with the expectation," Comodo stated in a press release.

The program delivers individualized PCI compliance expertise on security solutions and processes needed to efficiently achieve compliance. It offers recommendations on Comodo security solutions, in the case that the business finds it is not PCI compliant

Comodo CEO and Chief Security Architect Melih Abdulhayoglu said compliancy and risk mitigation is becoming more important for e-businesses to address. "Comodo has changed the model of how merchants can be supported in their critical compliancy and risk mitigation needs with our Painless PCI program," Abdulhayoglu said in a press release. " As a Certification Authority, it is important we actively support improving the level of compliance and security within the ebusiness community. The PCI Program makes PCI compliancy achievable and painless for virtually any online business."

Offering tailored advice for e-businesses is Comodo's latest attempt to continue its market strength as an increasing number of companies enter the PCI compliance services industry such as hosting services provider Rackspace Hosting (rackspace.com ) that released of a suite of PCI compliance products and services earlier in the week. In June, SoftLayer (softlayer.com -> ibm.com) and McAfee (mcafee.com) announced a partnership to introduce PCI compliance to SoftLayer clients.
