Jun 4, 2008 : Japanese Host Uses Open-Xchange

📅 - Japanese web hosting provider JMF announced on Wednesday it is offering Tsukaeru-Xchange (open-exchange.jp), a hosted email and collaboration service based on Saloob's (saloob.com) SaaS platform and Open-Xchange Hosting Edition.

Largely designed for small and medium-sized business, the service provides all the required tools to facilitate communication and efficient teamwork, including email, calendar, contacts, tasks and document sharing.

Users improve their communication and teamwork with what the company calls "simple, intuitive tools and intelligent features," including smart links between calendar appointments, task lists, contacts, documents, bookmarks and knowledge articles. Users can access their data using the AJAX-based web-client or Microsoft Outlook as client software.

JMF is now offering the new service to their existing hosting customers as well as to new customers. The initial release of advanced personal information management is included free to existing JMF customers using Parallels Plesk Control Panel with upgrade options to Groupware priced in increments of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100-plus user packages.

The Tsukaeru-Xchange service is available to all users via Saloob's SaaS platform, ZaBridge, and enables JMF customers to seemlessly manage their accounts from Parallels Business Automation, Parallels Plesk Control Panel and ZaBridge.

Using Parallels "OpenFusion" principals and the Application Packaging Standard, Saloob has provided JMF with a robust, extensible platform which enables customer to offer highly scalable value-added services.

"Webmail has long been limited to simple email viewing services, but now Tsukaeru-Xchange has taken webmail to a new level with hosted Groupware," says Jason Frisch, CEO of JMF. "We are very excited to partner with Saloob as they did a great job integrating Open-Xchange Hosting Edition with Parallels' Automation solutions."

Saloob has integrated PBA, Plesk and Open-Xchange into a seemless, single-sign-on portal that enables JMF to offer groupware subscriptions from PBA to existing customers, synchronize Plesk servers for two-way data updates, enable simple groupware account management based on Plesk users and migrate users' calenders and PIM data from other systems.

The company designed ZaBridge to be extensible so that JMF can add on other value-added services using multiple billing and subscription engines, while Saloob-enabled JMF's ZaBridge enables any Plesk owner to register with them by providing a customized Plesk Module.

Saloob says that the Open-Xchange Hosting Edition is the only groupware solution designed specifically to meet the needs of hosting providers. The solution integrates into hosting providers' existing infrastructure such as authentication, provisioning, billing and email storage, instead of forcing users to replace these systems.
