📅 May 1, 2008 - Canadian Web hosting provider Hostingplex (hostingplex.com -> hostmds.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched a new cPanel-based clustered hosting service.

"We're really excited about our clustered web hosting service," says Kevin Moonlight, senior systems administrator with Hostingplex. "We've invested a great deal of time and money into this superior infrastructure and now our customers will be able to benefit from that."

According to its recent press release, Hostingplex says "the proprietary cluster technology is unique as it makes use of the well-known control panel by cPanel," and that customers will still be able to enjoy the benefits of a cPanel Web host while "taking advantage of a robust and scalable clustered Web hosting infrastructure."

On its website, Hostingplex goes on to explain that although large websites have been able to benefit from the advantages of clustered Web hosting for many years now, the cost and complexity of setting this kind of infrastructure up has been a barrier to this technology being adopted wide-spread in the shared hosting market.

"We see clustering as an evolutionary advancement for the industry, and through hundreds of development hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment we have made it a reality for HostingPlex customers," writes Hostingplex on its website.

The clustered hosting service starts from $7.50 per month and is available immediately to new and existing customers. All plans come with 100GB disk space, 1000GB network transfer, free domain registration and hosting for up to 100 websites. Hostingplex also touts all the new features on its website like the boost in reliability with this kind of clustered infrastructure, the environmental benefits and of course, the scalability it can offer.

"Unlike traditional shared hosting, your site will actually be hosted by an entire cluster of servers not just a single web server," explains Hostingplex on its website. "This ensures that resources are always available for your site, ensuring your site is online even during unexpected peaks of traffic if you are listed on digg.com, Slashdot or any other major outlet."

Hostingplex was founded in 2000 and is a division of IT solutions provider Inverdigm.
