The domain conference and expo will be making its Australian debut from November 18 to 20 at the Sheraton Mirage Resort in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The rise in online advertising has created a lucrative domain market where Internet entrepreneurs stand to earn millions of dollars by buying, selling, developing and monetizing domain names. There are now over 1,000 so-called domain registries, as many as 100 million registered domains and a thriving aftermarket for domain names, with reported sales of more than $700 million in 2007.
T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under will be the first T.R.A.F.F.I.C. event taking place outside the US and specifically targets an international audience comprised of domain owners, domain registrars, online advertisers,sponsors, investors, media, advertising executives, venture capitalists, financial analysts and industry experts.
The three day event will feature workshops, key industry speakers and social events in one of Australia's biggest leisure and entertainment districts.
Two other upcoming T.R.A.F.F.I.C. are currently scheduled, which include T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East 2008 in Orlando, Florida on May 20 to 24, and New York 2008 in New York City on September 23 to 26.
"Australians are a major force in the domain industry,representing some of the largest domain portfolio owners in the world," says Rick Schwartz, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. founder. "This show will be a truly global event."
