📅 March 14, 2008 - Web hosting provider WebAppCabaret (webappcabaret.com) announced this week it has enhanced its standard JAVA hosting plans by implementing a high availability grid infrastructure, adding new technology and increasing memory and storage limits. Despite these enhancements, WeAppCabaret says all the prices for the hosting plans will remain the same.


The standard hosting plan is now offered with high availability cluster on the company's network grid. One of the critical functions of the HA Cluster, is that it provides network raid, enabling data to be written to the live server as well as to another server on the grid. This technology provides a higher level of redundancy than regular disk raid.

Since each member of the cluster is a node on the grid, if a live server goes down, it automatically failsover to an available node. Additionally, WebAppCabaret plans now feature firewall appliances from CISCO. The Web host has also increased the limits of certain plans, including RAM memory and disk space.

"Nothing beats the reliability and security of hardware firewalls compared to the many free software based firewalls," says Ronald Parris, WebAppCabaret's president.

Founded in 1998, WebAppCabaret is owned and operated by WebAppShowcase. The company says it specializes in Java EE, open source and commercial-based server development, products, application hosting and services.
