Dec 18, 2007 : DataPipe Joins PCI Security Council

📅 - Data center operator and managed hosting provider DataPipe (datapipe.com) announced on Monday it has joined the PCI Security Standards Council (pcisecuritystandards.org) as a new participating organization. DataPipe will work with the council to further develop the PCI Data Security Standard an other payment card data protection standards.
The PCI DSS is endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa. It calls for all merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to meet strict information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.  As a participating organization, DataPipe can now access the latest payment card security standards from the council, provide feedback on the standards and become part of an expanding community that includes more than 350 organizations. "By actively participating in the council, DataPipe will be able to effectively provide feedback from a managed service provider's point of view to help drive the standard to appropriately address this growing market segment," says Joel Friedman, DataPipe's chief security officer. "Access to proposed revisions will allow us to ensure that our turnkey compliance package addresses both current and future requirements of the PCI DSS standard."

DataPipe announced last month that email hosting provider Simplicato has selected DataPipe to support its expanding operation.
