Oct 4, 2007 : Comodo Offers Free PCI Scan

📅 - IT security solutions provider Comodo (comodo.com) announced on Wednesday it is now offering e-merchants a free quarterly payment card industry compliant scan. The offer will help e-merchants meet PCI compliance requirement deadlines, protect their customer's information from disclosure that might result from malicious hacking and save thousands of dollars in compliancy costs.

PCI compliance scanning helps businesses to determine whether their sites are vulnerable to hackers and gives valuable insights on how to fix problem areas. PCI standards require that e-merchants who accept credit card payments scan their websites for possible vulnerabilities. Companies that fail to comply with PCI standards could face financial penalties or lose their ability to process credit card transactions.

"Keeping customer information safe is a top priority for eMerchants," says Melih Abdulhayoglu, CEO and chief security architect of Comodo. "No one wants to have a hacker use their site to steal identity information. That's why Comodo is offering the HackerGuardian Free PCI Scan. This free scan shows eMerchants their vulnerable areas and delivers true value and security to many businesses."

Hacker Guardian free PCI scan is part of the HackerGuardian vulnerability scanning service designed to detect a server's vulnerability to hackers, as well as provides fix recommendations for any vulnerability problem detected. Comodo also announced that family calendar service HomeConvenience.com (homeconvenience.com) has deployed its EV SSL certificate to provide its customers with the highest level of online protection available.

Comodo announced last week that it partnered with Web hosting provider Uplinkearth to deliver business-class SSL certificates for its small to medium-sized business customers.
