Jun, 2001 : Digital River to Host Hotline E-commerce Operations
📅 - Digital River, Inc. (digitalriver.com), a leading e-commerce outsourced service provider, announced on Monday that it had formed an e-commerce agreement with Hotline Communications (bigredh.com), a leading developer of Internet communications and community building software.
As part of the agreement, Digital River built Hotline's e-commerce site. Digital River also hosts and manages e-commerce operations for the site, including transaction management, digital product fulfillment, 24X7 customer service and e-marketing services.
"Utilizing the Internet as a sales channel can help clients like Hotline achieve a return on investment very quickly," said Jay Kerutis, Digital River's president of Software and Digital Commerce Services. "Companies that outsource their e-commerce operations can concentrate on their core competencies while Digital River works to maximize the revenue generated through their e-commerce sites."
Digital River will drive Hotline's e-commerce initiatives and online sales of its Hotline Connect software, an application that enables users to interact live with real time chat, conferencing, messaging, data warehousing, file transfer and streaming capabilities. Through its E-Marketing Services, Digital River will implement e-mail campaigns, leverage third-party sales opportunities within its network of software publishing clients, and track and analyze Hotline's promotional sales.
"The strategy behind our e-commerce site is to sell an improved version of the popular Hotline Connect client software," said Jack Kay, President of Hotline Communications. "We chose to outsource our e-commerce operations to Digital River because of its leading e-commerce engine and tracking technology, competitive level of service, impressive customer list and vast e-marketing opportunities."
