Qwest's industry-leading Apptimum operations platform that leverages Qwest'sCyberCenters to optimize selling software as a service, was a major factorin Microsoft's decision to choose Qwest.
This announcement represents another step in the strategic relationshipbetween Qwest and Microsoft, which began in 1998. This year, Microsoftchose Qwest as one of its first Gold Certified Partners for hosting andapplication services for Qwest's managed exchange services.
In April, the two companies also cemented a five-year strategic alliance tocombine premium MSN internet access, content and services, with Qwest'sbroadband and network services for more than 12 million consumers.
"Apptimum has revolutionized the software and services market by combiningoperational excellence with tremendous cost savings," said Kevin Kosche,vice president of Microsoft development at Qwest. "Apptimum offers acomprehensive program that allows Microsoft-centered customers to transitionto a service-provider model without substantial capital outlay."
