Jul, 2001 : CopperCom Announces Availability of New Gateway Release
📅 - CopperCom (coppercom.com), a communications equipment provider, today announced the availability of its Gateway Release 2.2 that delivers a host of new hardware and software capabilities to facilitate carrier operations and deployment of its VoB solution.

With Release 2.2, CopperCom adds new capabilities to the Gateway including an expanded switch interface support including T1 CAS and UVG support for TR-008, a new Dual OC-3 ATM interface and expanded security and performance monitoring capabilities. CopperCom's products are designed for the incumbent carrier, validated by a variety of testing standards including Telcordia NEBS Level 3 compliance testing--the highest available confirmation that can be achieved in the industry.
The Gateway had first achieved NEBS Level 3 certification in the first quarter of 2000, and each subsequent release of new hardware has undergone re-certification. TR-008 and GR-303 protocol conformance testing were also completed with Telcordia, as well as re-certification with Nortel and Lucent.
Regional Bell Operating Companies and large incumbent carriers require these final levels of testing prior to introduction of equipment into their production network and wide-scale deployment
