EDS and WQuinn to Control Data Storage for Marine Corps Intranet

📅 July 31, 2001 - Wquinn (wquinn.com), a leader inreal-time storage resource management softwaresolutions, has announced that Plano, Texas-based EDS(eds.com) has selected WQuinn's StorageCentral SRM tocontrol data storage and maintain high availability ofdisk space on the enterprise-wide U.S. Navy MarineCorps Intranet (NMCI) project.

Representing the largest publicly-announced deploymentof storage resource management software on MicrosoftWindows-based systems to date, EDS will installStorageCentral SRM Enterprise Edition over the courseof the five-year deployment on the more than 2,500Dell ProSignia servers running Windows 2000 thatcomprise the NMCI.
In October 2000, EDS was awarded the $6.9 billion,five-year contract to build, manage, and maintain theU.S. Navy Marine Corps Intranet to be accessed by morethan 360,000 users at 300 bases throughout the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Iceland.
