DG Systems Introduces First Local Network Television Internet Feed


📅 - DG Systems, Inc. (dgsystems.com), Friday announced that its patented CoolCast Internet broadcasting service is now delivering scheduled, 24/7 feeds of WBQC-UPN25, Cincinnati's local UPN affiliate, to CoolCast subscribers in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The company says this is the first time that a local broadcaster has offereddigital quality television programming to local broadband PC users. CoolCastis a premiere service available to Cincinnati DSL subscribers and featuresbranded and proprietary video as well as CD quality audio programming.
Approximately 45,000 ADSL subscribers through the CoolCast streaming mediaplatform can now view the local Cincinnati UPN affiliate Channel 25 WBQC-TVin real time. UPN's strong fall lineup includes popular programming such asStar Trek: Enterprise, WWF Smackdown, Roswell and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.Nationally, UPN has an established network of broadcast affiliates reachingover 80% of U.S. TV households.

In addition to WBQC-UPN25,CoolCast allows local ADSL users to view compelling content such asBloomberg Television, The Weather Channel, Court TV and the Game ShowNetwork, and listen to a large selection of music while simultaneouslyoperating other software applications such as spreadsheets, e-mail, wordprocessing programs, or Internet browsers. The video can be viewed infull-screen or reduced to a smaller picture while multitasking.
