Time Warner Telecom to Deliver Fiber Optic Services for Digital River

📅 October 3, 2001 - Time Warner Telecom Inc. (twtelecom.com), a provider of metroand regional optical broadband networks, today announced an agreement toprovide fiber optics services to Digital River, an e-commerce outsourceprovider.

Under terms of the two-year agreement, Digital River's data center will use155 Mb of Internet access through an OC-3 fiber loop that Time WarnerTelecom built. Time Warner Telecom is combining the OC-3 network with aDense Wave Division Multiplexing solution that allows Digital River toincrease capacity on its fiber connection and use it more efficiently.
"The fact that Time Warner Telecom owns and operates its own fiber networkwas the biggest selling point for us," said Marty Boos, Digital River'schief architect and vice president of information services. "Our search fora primary bandwidth provider focused on scalability, reliability andsupport. Time Warner Telecom exceeded our service requirements at acompetitive price."
