Oct 11, 2001 : Genuity Expands Black Rocket SLAs


📅 - Genuity Inc. (genuity.com), a leading provider of Internet infrastructure services and e-business Network Platforms, announced that it will add the industry's first unified service level agreement to its Black Rocket service. The new unified SLA combines Genuity's existing Black Rocket site availability SLAs with previously available component SLAs to provide enterprise customers with a more comprehensive service commitment level.

Today's announcement builds upon Genuity's recent decision to offer a customversion of Black Rocket for enterprise customers with unique requirements.Genuity now offers four variations on the architecture of its Black Rockete-business Network Platform to better accommodate the customer'simplementation requirements of speed and flexibility. With the new options,customers now can customize their Black Rocket platform to meet the specificrequirements of their organization for load balancing, redundancy andsecurity.
"We're building on the market advantage we created a year ago when welaunched Black Rocket and offered e-businesses a standardized platform ofmanaged hosting and broadband access connected to our Tier 1 Internetbackbone," said Jim Freeze, senior vice president of marketing and productmanagement at Genuity. "Now, enterprise customers have the choice of apreset or custom Black Rocket backed by the industry's best guarantee andthe ease-of-mind that comes with 30 years of IT and telecom experience."
With Genuity's unified SLA, if an individual component in the Black Rocketarchitecture fails and the site stays up, the customer will receive servicecredit for that component. If that component failure causes the entire siteto fail, the customer will receive service credit for the entire site.
Launched in Oct. 2000, Genuity's Black Rocket offers a combined platform ofInternet access, managed hosting and security, and IP transport overGenuity's Tier 1 backbone, with elements of this portfolio integrated tomeet specific e-business requirements.
With eServices Consulting for Black Rocket customers, Genuity's IP andnetworking engineers work with the customer to develop a roadmap formigrating service from one provider to Genuity or for launching newe-business initiatives.
