AppliedTheory Provides Managed Services for NYC Health and Hospitals Corp

📅 October 30, 2001 - AppliedTheory (appliedtheory.com) has started work on a three-year Internet services contract with New York City Health andHospitals Corporation (NYCHHC), a $4.1 billion organization that overseesthe public hospital system in all five city boroughs.

AppliedTheory is providing NYCHHC (ci.nyc.ny.us/html/hhc/) with managed Internet services, security, and connectivity for the entire NYCHHC user community, including doctors, hospital administrators, and technical staff throughout the city. AppliedTheory will implement and manage NYCHHC'scontent filtering server, which will provide authentication and logging forits 4,100 web-capable accounts.
In addition, AppliedTheory will provide managed firewall services, managedintrusion detection services, managed email virus scanning services, andInternet connectivity over diverse and redundant paths. Part ofAppliedTheory's management of NYCHHC's Internet security will includereporting of all internal users' access to the World Wide Web.
"The current environment of heightened awareness and security has addedanother layer of complexity to building, integrating, managing andprotecting the mission-critical Internet applications and services for largeenterprises," said AppliedTheory CEO Danny E. Stroud.
