MFN Extends Site Operations Platform to Customer-Owned IDCs

📅 November 13, 2001 - Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. (mfn.com), a leading provider of digital communications infrastructure solutions, has expanded its relationship with VERITAS Software Corp. (veritas.com), a leading software storagecompany, to provide Internet infrastructure managed services within VERITASSoftware's own data center environment.

The relationship with VERITAS Software demonstrates MFN's ability tosuccessfully offer the Site Operations Platform (SOP) within an enterprisedata center as well as an off-site co-location facility.
In March 2000, VERITAS Software selected SiteSmith as its managed serviceprovider at its third party co-location facility. MFN acquired SiteSmith inFebruary 2001. Shortly after, VERITAS Software made the strategic decisionto move its data center operations in-house and extended its businessrelationship with MFN.
Under the new agreement, MFN assists VERITAS Software in the deployment ofits re-architected e-business environment in its new data center. MFN alsoprovides ongoing managed services for the company's external Web sitethrough its Site Operations Platform (SOP).
