📅 - The Systems House (tsh.com) announced yesterday that it hasopened Citadel Data Center for ASP, e-commerce, database or applicationhosting, as well as redundant server hosting, POP3 e-mail and Web hosting,and business continuity services.
The Systems House marked the event by holding an open house Dec. 13 in DesPlaines, IL. Attended by representatives of IBM, Ernst & Young, and othermembers of the business community, the open house unveiled the products andservices Citadel Data Center offers.
Companies that have seen their business grow on the Web are now pushing thesubscription-based model beyond its intended design, the company said in astatement. This subscription model lends itself to passive watching orreading, and is not designed for interactive growing business. Warehousedata centers like those springing up by Sprint, ATT, and MCI are simplybeyond the reach of many customers. Their contracts start in the fivefigures, and typically span multiple years. A high-end off-the-shelfapplication is often assumed.
The Systems House says it saw an opportunity in this gap, and is launchingthe Citadel Data Center as a reaction. Citadel Data Center, offeringtailored solutions to growing businesses at lower prices and high levels ofservice.
Citadel Data Center customer Insignia Group, LLC (insigniagroup.com), wasrecently at this stage in their online lifecycle. "We switched to CitadelData Center because they delivered the performance and reliability that weweren't getting from one of the big-name hosting companies," says DavidStringer, general manager of Insignia Group. "This is truly the hostingenvironment for our business critical client applications." Insignia Groupis slated to fully migrate all its client applications to the Citadel DataCenter before the end of the year.
"At Citadel Data Center, we believe mission-critical IT should be treatedwith greater care and attention than is typically found in the services ofthe big telcos. Companies cannot afford to have their business down for 1-3days. Getting a Website-not-available message is like a credit card declinedin reverse, except it's your business that is questioned by the would-becustomer," the company said in a media release.
