Myrient and American Multiplexer to Offer Satellite-Based Broadband


📅 - Myrient (myrient.com), an outsourced IT solutions provider,announced yesterday the creation of a strategic partnership with AmericanMultiplexer (amux.com), a digital service provider that delivers multicast content distribution. As part of the collaboration, the companies willintegrate American Multiplexer's satellite-based IP network into Myrient'sdisaster recovery suite of solutions and market them to a wide range ofcustomers.

"By incorporating Myrient's real-time data synchronization solutions withAmerican Multiplexer's satellite-based broadband IP multicast network, wecan offer mission-critical broadband disaster recovery solutions to smalland mid-sized companies that until now, only large scale enterprises couldafford," said Bryan L. Turbow, president and CTO, Myrient.
Traditionally, companies have often had to lease dedicated "always-on"circuits to provide the necessary bandwidth to restore mission-critical dataquickly. Future users of this solution will be able to continually streamdata content across the Internet using Myrient's CentraPath managed VPNsolution to the nearest Myrient online data vault, and be able to restore ordistribute this data via American Multiplexer's satellite network at speedsup to 30 Mb/s in the event of an emergency at a lower effective cost.

Additionally, the companies will engage in jointly providing othersatellite-based data delivery solutions including digital videomulticasting, subscription-based content distribution, proactive cachedelivery, and e-learning solutions.
