GeoTrust Unveils Franchise Distribution Program for SSL Certificates

📅 March 28, 2002 - Digital certificate firm GeoTrust, Inc. (Geotrust.com), today announced the GeoTrust Franchise Program for distributing QuickSSL, its near-instant delivery system of 128-bitSSL digital certificates.

Under the new program, anyone can act as a GeoTrust marketing agent by promoting and selling QuickSSL on their own Web site. In return, customers receive a commission fee for each certificates sold. GeoTrust said more than 50 companies have joined the company's new franchise program in less than 3 weeks.
"As the need increases for a faster, more efficient way to receive digital certificates and secure online transactions, we are exploring innovative ways to more broadly distribute our product to meet customer demand," said Neal Creighton, CEO of GeoTrust. "We are excited to offer anyone who is willing to be a marketing agent for GeoTrust the opportunity to earn additional revenue from our widely adopted QuickSSL product."
GeoTrust's QuickSSL product uses patent-pending automated authentication technology to issue SSL certificates within 10 minutes upon receiving a valid request. The company said it has captured more then 9% of the digital certificate market, becoming the world's second largest digital certificate supplier, and is aiming to capture 30% of the market by the end of 2002.
