May 15, 2002 : Rackspace Named to Red Herring 100

📅 May 15, 2002 - Rackspace Managed Hosting (Rackspace.com ), a provider of managed Web hosting services, said today it had been included in the Red Herring 100, a list of the 100 top public and private companies in digital technology.

The Red Herring 100 honors companies whose services, business models and products define business innovation and entrepreneurial capitalism. Rackspace was listed as one of the top 50 private firms.
Red Herring editors compiled the list using the same criteria used by venture capitalists and investment bankers to predict a company's ability to penetrate existing markets or create new ones, while at the same time judging strategy execution, management quality and financial performance.
"We pride ourselves on doing things differently from other companies and being recognized by a respected publication like Red Herring acknowledges confidence in our business model and technical innovation," said Graham Weston, Rackspace CEO. "The Red Herring distinction validates our focus on fanatical customer support as the key to our success."
The Red Herring 100 is featured in the June 2002 issue of Red Herring magazine and on Red Herring Online (redherring.com). It includes a profile of Rackspace that highlights its market, strategy, finances and management.
