📅 - Content delivery network solution provider Akamai Technologies Inc. (akamai.com) said on Friday that the Nasdaq stock market has approved the company's request that it be transferred from the Nasdaq National Market to the Nasdaq SmallCap Market.
Akamai began trading on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market as of the opening of business on Tuesday, September 3, 2002, and continues to trade under the ticker symbol AKAM. The price of Akamai's shares has fallen pretty consistently since the beginning of the year, when the company traded at its 52-week high of about $6.75, to Friday's close of 95 cents.
