Dec, 2002 : VeriSign Opens Name Store for Registrars

📅 - Digital trust services provider VeriSign Inc. (VeriSign.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a Name Store fulfillment platform designed to expand and simplify the offerings provided by domain name retailers to their customers.

VeriSign Global Registry Services is launching the Name Store with a country-code top level domain program that makes it simple for registrars to give customers access to sought-after CCTLDs. The service allows registrars to add several domains to their registration services, including .de, .uk, .jp, .nz, .be, .at and .mx.
The Name Store was created, says VeriSign, with three goals in particular: to improve the fulfillment process naming services offered by registrars; to expand the breadth of future services registrars can offer; and to provide registrars with options for deepening existing customer relationships.
"VeriSign is using its infrastructure and experience to make the domain name business more robust," said Rusty Lewis, executive vice president, VeriSign Global Registry Services. "By provisioning a wide array of name services through our Name Store platform, we're making it easier for registrars to serve their existing customer base and to source new business, all while removing the need for them to develop their own complex fulfillment technology."
