📅 June 21, 2007 - Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (1and1.com) announced on Thursday it has launched Click-n-Build, a new platform the offers the best in open source Web building applications. Bundled with Web hosting from $4.99 a month, the platform delivers open source Web building tools and comes fully developed, installed and ready to apply within a few clicks.

The service provides applications including phpBB, Joomla!, TikiWiki, Noah's Classifieds, Moodle, Mantis and phpAdsNew. The platform is the first solution for installing powerful open source tools within a few clicks, and includes automatic version updates, security patches and an ad-free environment.

1&1 Click-n-Build is based on the Application Packaging Standard, developed by SWsoft for the integration of open source applications within a hosting environment. The solution provides 1&1 users with one easy-to-use interface for adding, configuring and removing Web applications within their Web hosting. It also adds value to each application by fully managing the installation, latest version updates and automatic security patches.
