📅 January 14, 2003 - Discount dedicated hosting company ServerBeach (ServerBeach.com ) announced on Tuesday that it is offering a new discount dedicated server offering, designed to provide an alternative for technology hobbyists seeking the flexibility of a dedicated server without the high cost.

Launched Tuesday by Rackspace Managed Hosting founder Richard Yoo, the company says it will offer its PersonalServer, built on quality hardware and a reliable network, starting at $99.
For $99, ServerBeach says it offers a PersonalServer running Red Hat Linux with 400GB bandwidth, full root access and 24-hour hardware replacement guarantee. For a limited time, the company is offering a Windows 2000 server, packaged with Ensim, for the same price.
