📅 - Web hosting provider Verio Europe (verio.co.uk) and value added reseller Avnet Partner Solutions (avnet.com) announced this week that they have formed a major European strategic alliance, intended as the first step toward introducing a European distribution program for NTT/VERIO RapidRollout Solutions.
Through the alliance, Avnet resellers will have the ability to offer NTT/VERIO dedicated hosting solutions based on IBM hardware to the SME market.
Along with a Web presence, says Avnet, many SMEs require a hosted office and enterprise applications, solutions that require greater flexibility and performance in hosting. The Verio/Avnet alliance is designed to address this need, enabling Avnet's 4,500 resellers across Europe to offer solutions based on dedicated IBM server platforms with access to value-added services like backup, monitoring and security services.
"The dedicated server market is growing very quickly. Many SMEs are migrating their static Web sites to more dynamic and interactive Web presences, linked to back-end systems," said George Smith, president of Avnet Computer Marketing, Europe. "We know our VARs (value added resellers) are constantly looking for innovative solutions for their customers' real IT issues - and are confident our alliance with Verio will provide that, enabling the SME community to expand their exploitation of the Web and its potential business efficiencies."
