Aug, 2003 : Dynamic Net Blocks 23,000 Sobig.F E-mails

📅 August 28, 2003 - Managed Services firm Dynamic Net (dynamicnet.net) said today its H-Sphere mail servers had blocked 25,000 viruses, approximately 23,000 of which were of the Sobig.F variant, since implementing virus scanning of email at the mail server level three weeks ago.

The company said that none of its customers were infected during the Sobig virus' proliferation last week.
The company also said it had implemented spam prevention techniques last month, and that Dynamic Net customers get 1,750,000 less spam messages each week.
Dynamic Net, Inc., alongside its We Manage Servers division, is a fully managed hosting provider. The company often provides managed services to customers such as Rackspace Managed Hosting and NTT/Verio.
