Webstarts ripped me off!
I recently had an experience with Webstarts where I attempted to cancel their service using their online service. My access from the site was terminated so it would reason my service was terminated. Several months later I noticed my account was charged. After SEVERAL attempts to get through to them I was informed that the account was active. The specialist said he could NOT refund part of my money because I had already bought the domain name. He stated it could be transfered to my new host company
So, biting the bullet I terminated the service with the intent of transfering the domain name. That night I discovered the domain would not work. Today, 3 days later, I spoke to the company and was informed that since I cancelled the account my domain was released to the public. NO REFUND COULD BE ISSUED AND NOTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE. Apparently even though I BOUGHT the domain name the company releases it to the public if you cancel your account.
To make it better I was informed the employee who said this no longer worked for the company (3 days after telling me this). Added insult was the supervisor saying that it cost HIM money to be talking to ME on the phone. Imagine that. It cost HIM money!
