I host a couple of domains with WebHostingWorld. One that I use just for a family email address, and for that purpose they are fine.
Unfortunately, my other use is to have a backup site for my photographs - all JPG files with the occasional AVI recorded on my camera. Twice now I have uploaded approximately 20 Gb of data to their "unlimited" storage accounts, and after almost a week of uploading in each case, the entire site contents has been deleted.
When I contact support they reply saying that they have reset the account so that I can now log on, but there is no mention of where the data went. When I specifically asked they said "We have checked and unable to locate the PhotoBackup folder on the server under your account. We haven't made any changes for your account. Please upload the files by creating the same folder for further needs.
If you have any further queries, please let us know."
If they have some policy about large folders or not really having unlimited storage space, fine. It's only $12/year for goodness sake, I don't expect great service. What I absolutely can't stand is the complete denial that something has happened at all. The support staff don't seem capable of telling me what's happened.
If you want to host a few simple web pages, or an email account on your own domain, this service is great for the price.
