For almost 8 weeks (its now 8 Nov 09) it has been virtually impossible to retrieve email from either of two domains during business hours using an email client. UK2 say their system was working normally, which is untrue.

For the last 4 days, the email system has been a complete shambles. Right now, the status site says that email service has been restored. That is untrue. Emails to me from trusted contacts have disappeared without trace - including some that were already visible on web-mail but not yet downloaded, and new emails are being rejected as 'site does not exist' - not even an 'unavailable - try later' message.

I could forgive a technical failure - but this is a self-imposed disaster apparently resulting from their incompetent attempt to switch to a new system that clearly has not been properly tested and prepared. And surely - if you are going to switch to a new system, you copy all the data first to make a duplicate, then switch - not switch and then mess about for three days (and counting) transferring data. On the one occasion I managed to speak to a techie, he fixed one of the problems that had frozen my account, but it was clear that he was as pissed off as I was at the lack of competent management. Based on this experience, their service is cheap in every sense of the word.
