Do not, under any circumstances, use this webhost. I've been a customer of theirs for about 6 months. In that time, I've recommended them to countless people, and delivered new business to them to the tune of 15+ new customers, not counting all of the clients on my personal hosting account. About one month ago, this situation took a turn for the douche. I first learned of a miserable human being who works as a late night tech support guy for the company. Let's give him a psuedonym of "Scatt". With every email response from this person, I received nothing but rudeness, insults, and dismissiveness. I was trying to take the alternate route of using phone support to find someone who could help me, but I just kept calling at the wrong times and would ultimately have my contact re-routed to an email conversation with Mr. Scatt. In the meantime, I had contacted the billing department to see what date I would have to pay by in order to make sure nothing happens to my account. This was because I wanted to try and resolve my issue, and might consider finding another host if the issue couldn't be resolved. I was informed by the billing department that I had until May 13th to pay, without any interruptions occuring in my account. On May 6th, I received notification that sharkspace had placed a charge on my bank account without permission. I pay monthly for service. I tried calling, and was told that the people who could fix the problem were not in, and that I should send an email, which they would respond to when they get in. Shortly after, I received an email from the infamous "Scatt", informing me that he refunded the fraudulent charge, and had also deleted my entire account. No, that is not a misprint. He deleted my entire account. This includes over 50 websites, many belonging to businesses, organizations, political campaigns, etc. All of these websites were now gone. This includes not just html files, but all databases, email subscriber lists (with tens of thousands of members), etc. I, of course, was furious. I asked Mr. Scatt to restore my account with all websites intact. He refused. He continued with his rudeness, telling me to go get hosting elsewhere, and generally treating me like shit, as he had done since the very first email I had ever received from him. I tried calling the company phone number to report what he had done, and guess what? He blocked my phone number from being able to call. After I placed this info on a popular webhosting forum, which he obviously sits on all day, he started responding and making accusations of receiving "threats", and claiming that I was a non-paying customer. Not only have I never threatened anyone, but I have been a paying customer for over 6 months, not to mention all of the new customers that I brought to them, which they are now collecting money from. This is his attempt to cover up his asinine actions. This will not be over until this guy is fired. In fact, many of my clients have already discussed this with me. Many of them are filing complaints with the attorney general, and are considering filing multiple civil actions against the company due to this guy's disgusting move. As of right now, 16 hours after he deleted all of our websites, the sites have still not been restored, and we can't get through the phone line.
Don't ever use this webhost, under any circumstances, unless you want to wind up with all of your sites and clients' sites deleted by some juvenile angry little asshole who desperately needs prosecution.
