I recently took over the management of our US server group. Discovered issues with all ten (10) of our dedicated servers. Zero monitoring had been configured.

Serverpoint's idea of server monitoring is wandering the aisles listening for the 'beep' of systems in trouble. I'm not making that up, they even wrote it down in a support ticket. Once I stopped laughing, the seriousness of that dropped on me like a brick.

This weekend (last 48 hrs) we discovered five (5) of the ten (10) servers had either;
a) an existing critical issue
b) suffered a critical event in that time window.

I agree with previous reviewers; Peter will respond to you with stereotypical American arrogance. You are the customer, stick to the facts and stand your ground.

There has been a flurry of activity this weekend from the Serverpoint support team. They have now configured the IPMI and RAID alerting; after I 'threw my toys out of pram' at them.

We handle US Gov data, and as such cannot move it off US soil (e.g. to our Tier 4 UK data centers). Previously we have found 'foreign servers' in our private VLAN. Slight mis-configuration by Serverpoint, but that event 'raise eyebrows' with the powers that be.

People make mistakes from time to time, but Serverpoint keep racking them up at an alarming (no pun intend) rate. Now I am forced into doing a 'Risk Assessment' to decide if we can keep on using them.
