I’ve used Resellerclub and other registrars for years to host our multiple domain names and those of many of our customers. Until recently when a site that we’ve operated for 9 years received a spam complaint due to a hack. The hack was rectified and even the complaintant considered it resolved but Resellerclub’s policy is to immediately and permanently suspend the domain until the name expires. No investigation and no consideration of the fact that we’ve been with them for years and that this name had never previously received a spam complaint and has never been on any spam black list since created 9 years ago.
Bottom line, if you have a site, it can be hacked. Microsoft and even US government sites have been hacked. So unless your site is totally immune you can be hacked and lose that domain when Resellerclub decides to permanently suspend it until it expires. This means that the site can be down for months, and after expiration, you can actually lose the name because it will become public.
Firtunately for us, this site was owned by us and only a public service site. So we consider it a warning. If it could happen to this 9 year old site it could happen to any of our major business sites or those of our customers causing a major loss of revenue and a bad name for us with our customers, potential customers and resellers.
So for us the decision was easy and clear that no matter whatever Resellerclub offers, this policy of not even investigating a complaint amounts to a risk that we could not afford to take. Resellerclub.com poses a major risk to the domain name that you may have spent years cultivating and the business that you’ve poured your time and money in.
My last words to them was that I know they are not in the US but here even murderers get a trial! Since they decided not to respond, this post and transfering all of our domains is our response.
