"Network Solutions let me down in many ways. Their customer, David, was my life partner who passed July of last year. When I called Network Solutions soon after David's passing to notify them and ask what I need to do as his representative and executor, they failed. They failed to send me an important form, to transfer authority of the account and they failed to verify their email notices would get to the right inbox. This mistake led to David's inbox continuing to get notices, including the one saying it was up for renewal. Being six months after his death I had stopped checking David's inbox. A month later, I learned the site was down and so I called in - (the sales from the site were my main livelihood). This was the first time they told me about the form and set me a copy to fill out. In that call I found out that the site was completely gone, deleted, and while we talked I continually noticed the way the rep talked to me... it was extremely insensitive to my situation. Instead of realizing, not only was I NOT the customer, but a grieving widow, and that I knew nothing about web hosting, and had not made the mistake, their rep had. So instead of filling out the form I responded with a letter to customer service saying the form was too late and explained why I was questioning remaining their customer after such an expensive mistake. I received no response to my letter which I sent two ways, by email and on their "contact us" page. Today, months later, I called in to talk specifically to a supervisor about this whole mess and see if the site really is gone, as in really gone, and "why no reply to my letter?" and "is there any thing they can do for me at this stage?". I went through three representatives first, requesting they connect me to a supervisor to avoid explaining the situation more than necessary. Finally I talked to Chad, a supervisor, who listened and offered what he could - which wasnt much. He offered me a discount on a new host package - a value of approx $60. Our investment in the website's creation: $5000. Too little and too late. If I have to build another website from scratch, why start with a company I dont trust?"
