Wait for it..... the FUN part is at the end....
After 10 years of hosting family businesses in the reseller plan and being on autopay for the majority, MDD Hosting pulled the plug on ALL said businesses & email because I was 6 days late when my autobill failed. All websites & email were down.
MDD apparently had to update how they auto-bill PayPal and I don't deny they sent a bunch of emails to me about it prior. I didn't see them because
1) MDD spams offers like "hey if you pay money in advance we'll give you a bonus" and
2) Everything important comes via text these days. They have my number but rather pull the plug.
My theory is my grandfathered plan wasn't profitable for them so they treated me as such.
So yea, if you miss a health insurance payment, auto insurance, or cable bill for an innocent issue, you get a 2 month grace period. 6 days late on your hosting bill for what amounts to prorated 12 bucks and they pull the plug at MDDHosting.
But hey... their biz, their rules.
At this point I'm very frustrated... MDD has done work on their servers in the past and all my sites were down for days. I stuck with em back then.
This time... medical website emails were down and parents messaging their coach were down.
So...fast forward to getting TEXTS from the business owners. I asked MDD to put my sites back online and I told them "Now that you have my 12 bucks you can pay the light bill. Please turn my sites back on"
I didn't swear at anyone or break any TOS. I was out of town for a funeral and they caused a huge issue for me when I should have been with family. Their reaction...
They PULLED THE PLUG ON ALL MY SITES and my WHM and Cpanel access.
They said I was "rude".
I didn't get any runway time to rebuild or access my sites in cpanel. They emailed me some giant files after the sites were already down. I was helping nontechnical people set up their email for the next two days and trying to rebuild sites and get a dev to free up his time.
I was hesitant to post the review because Michael Denney https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeldenney/ is vindictive and not afraid of legal repercussions or care what impact he has on small businesses.
He is an emotional CEO.
They won't think twice about pulling business offline without caring who it impacts if they don't like the cut of your jib.
I wouldn't be surprised if they access my data and leak it out of spite.
I am going to do what I can to make sure no one else experiences what I did.
It's too bad because you want the small guy to win but when it comes to crucial dependencies, sometimes you have to go with a company with a legal department and process in place... instead of the Soup Nazi of web hosting.
FTR: I do not give MDD hosting or any of its representatives to share my personal information or to doxx me.

WHTOP truncates responses to about 1,000 characters, so I won't be able to address all of the points you've raised.
You were a customer for nearly 10 years. During this time, you consistently demonstrated a rude and disrespectful manner when interacting with our staff. I was aware of you by name, and in your situation, that's not a positive attribute.
We can't help it if you choose not to read any emails, and we never promised SMS/Text notifications.
We send a maximum of 4 existing customer promotion emails per year, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time. Your claim that we send too many marketing emails is absurd, like most of the rest of your review.
I can count on one hand the number of clients we've had to fire since 2007, and we provide services to thousands of customers. We are not in the habit of firing clients. Generally, this is reserved for the most severe cases.
I do genuinely wish you the best of luck wherever you ended up.
