Unbelievable support, ticket response typically < 5 minutes. Way beyond what is expected or required. I just don't get the disparaging reviews, they absolutely do not describe the character of the people that I have dealt with.

I am not inclined to give reviews, but only if there is something about a company that is outstanding. MDD certainly falls in that category.
The most striking characteristic about MDD is their support. I have never opened a ticket without getting a response within 10 minutes, and oftentimes within 2 or 3. They all personal responses, no boilerplates. They have been very solicitous, and IMO going beyond what would normally be expected from web hosting, educating and supporting in areas that really aren't their responsibility. I get from them they just want to help me to get things to work. And any time I have wanted to have a program installed that couldn't be done locally, they have done so. This service was the same even when I first started with them on my $5 a month Cloudstarter account. AFAICT, I am getting exactly the same service as their top tier accounts, as I don't know how it could get any better. I previously ran my own server with Amazon Cloud and I got ZERO service, without subscribing to upper tier services at exorbitant rates ($100 to $200 per month IIRC.)
I have been using MDD for 5 years now, and I now hold 2 accounts with them, a Cloudstarter account and a Cloud1 account. The Cloud1 tier gives me unlimited storage space. With Amazon Cloud I paid $30 a month. I am now paying $30 a _quarter_ for my Cloud1 account. I moved away from running a cloud server to web hosting because I no longer had time for the headaches of maintaining my own service. I expected to be limited with web hosting, but I have not experienced that with MDD, as I mentioned above.
