Truth be said, Maiahost service is not bad, so long as you don't use much of their advertised allocation. Once you use a bit more, they will kick you out even though you haven't even reached a fraction of your allocation.. Then you see Dr Jeckyl turning into Mr. Hyde.

I joined Maiahost Multiple Plan in February 2009 because they claimed in their advertisement to offer 50,000 MB monthly bandwidth and 5,000 MB disk space for US$6.95 per month. But when I used up only 2,352 MB. of our monthly bandwidth allocation (5% of 50GB) and 2,550 MB of our disk space allocation (51% of 50GB), they kicked me out and told me that they could sell those resources to "20 other people". This means that their actual allocation for their Multiple Plan is only 118 MB bandwidth transfer and 128 MB disk space! That is why I give them a rating of 1 for Price/Cost.

Maiahost claimed that I exceeded their 1.5% CPU usage but by how much is really a mystery, with Online Chat Support saying that I touched 2.6% and Technical Support claiming 10%. When I asked for proof, they said they would give me in a few days time as they were in the midst of developing a software! Hmmm, Maiahost started in 2005 and until 2009, they still haven't develop any software tracking?

And given that Maiahost is not trustworthy, I won't trust their software either. What is stopping them from asking their programmer to write CPUUsage*1.3 so that you reach your CPU usage limit 30% faster than is due? And the boss himself, Venetsian, was caught redhanded writing a rosy review for Maiahost at DigitalPoint.com Forum! That's some honest company for you!

And don't say, "I'm just wondering if how big your hosting budget was, when we charge only $3.95 per month for hosting services, and we are considered the cheapest one in the web hosting industry." as they have replied to one negative review by a poster here. It is not how much one expect from US$3.95 per month. It is whether they honor their advertisement, period! If they can't offer so much for US$6.95, don't try and bluff, that's what I am trying to drive at. Just be honest! Is that asking for too much?

And they have the cheek to write: "P.S. We're not that rude if you don't cause problems! -- maiahost.com representative" They think they are the only webhost in this world! Try GoDaddy.com. I know they are not perfect either but at least they are 3 times bigger than their next competitor.... and that competitor is obviously not Maiahost.

Maiahost's primary pride is that all our servers are NON-OVERLOADED and page load time is the highest compared to other Shared Hosting packages provided by our competition. To achieve this there must be no overloaders!
Our hosting packages are made to answer all demands. Our Maia Single hosting package is designed to achieve best website performance is small to medium websites. Note that you run a large forum "used up only 2,352 MB" - that's considered a lot for a forum!
And again please don't use the store usage a criteria since the problem with your account was only in CPU usage which we enforce in order to prevent server degradation. This is what we promised and advertised as service level!
Please understand that our cheap shared hosting packages are designed for non-professional website developers to save money but still enjoy 99.99% service uptime guarantee! For professional website developers and designers we have special options such as semi-dedicated, VPS, or even managed dedicated server hosting services. These would offer much better performance for more or less large websites.
