Dissappointed with Maiahost
I was with Maiahost for 3 years give or take. There are some good things I could say about them and i particular the promptness off their tech support. Sadly anything good I can say is eclipsed by the fact they terminated my account at the request of Spamhaus for being a source of spam and malware.
In fairness I canceled the account before I was officially terminated but I did get a message saying Spamhaus demanded my site be removed before Maiahost would be unlisted as a hosting service for spam.
My last year or more there was nothing but an ordeal for me in terms of my site being hacked over and over. It came to eb that I was doing less posting than trying to deal with yet another hacking or malware situation. The last situation had been going since around Christmas of 2010. The same source kept injecting .htacess files into my FTP. They just could not solve the problem and in the end terminated my account as though it were my fault. I was never even told sorry or anything. it was more like "we have to do this for our reputation".
While I can understand that what has to be clear is that is not my fault my site was not protected and repeatedly hacked over over byt the same sources. I did not inject malware script into my own website for fun. The tech guy there did his best I feel but in the end something at Maiahost is not secure.
On their homepage it says:

Due to increased demands Maiahost is happy to introduce another free service for new clients. If your website is showing malware warnings and your host is not assisting you in cleaning them up then Maiahost is your solution. Join the Maiahost community and enjoy Free website transfers, Free malware/antivirus scan and cleanup, free CMS updates"
It did not seem to do me any good and I had been there for 3 years. I wish in the end someone would have said "sorry Bill but...". Rather I am my site were swept under the carpet. I put a lot of work into my site and because of issues with their servers or security it was abruptly terminated. During another hacking situation I had learned from other maiahost customers they had had some issues with security was well. I just could not recommend Maiahost any longer.
