Very poor customer service and support

I have had LH for many years. They have a fairly poor up-time record and very bad email processing. They once cancelled my serviced because they failed to bill me with their crummy email system. Now they are blocking many of my customers emails. They have no phone support, so you go round and round with them in emails and they never seem to fix anything or pay much attention to questions asked. Avoid this host.
Customer Mike V. is entitled to his own opinions but not his own facts. A review of his tickets shows a pattern of accusation and panic that reflect someone who doesn’t understand the way technology works, does not follow instructions, and blames everyone else while playing the victim.

We work very hard to provide our customers with the finest hosting and support in the industry and we take great offense when someone makes false accusations attempting to tarnish our reputation.

A review of his many tickets shows we bent over backwards to help this customer and the high quality and promptness of our staff replies.

Mike V has made outright lies such as claiming we have no phone support when our 1800 number was emailed to him when he placed his order and is on our website and we have phone records to prove it and I personally spoke with him over 1.5 hours last month. He lied that our billing system shut him down when the fact he decided to use a new email address but never updated his billing account or notified us to update it for him so of course when our automated billing sent him 3 separate renewal notices and another 2 from our registrar he didn’t pay for the service and his DOMAIN was suspended by the registry which caused his site to go down ( his server was still online) and when he finally did contact us VIA PHONE he said he would mail in a check which would take 3-5 days to receive and our staff even made an exception and renewed his domain prior to receipt of payment as a courtesy to get his site back online faster. Or his other Lie that our servers are always down when in fact we maintain 99.9% uptime but he kept using the wrong passwords on various systems which triggered the server firewall to block his ability to access the server even though it was online and working.

His last claim of Email issues is again fabrication. A study of his past tickets show in one case he kept accusing our systems of not forwarding emails when in fact it was the recipient's mail server that was deferring emails (probably a full mailbox) yet he continue to accuse our staff until we finally gave him the server logs showing it was accepted by the recipient's server. In his latest set of issues he refused to answer a straight question when asked who the sender was and he kept giving generic “ my customers” or “my library” making it nearly impossible for our engineers to trace the issue which was due to the senders mail servers not passing a filter check (because the sender's mail server was misconfigured) and Mike V’s inability to want to actually read the instructions and add a simple whitelist entry. In the end he demanded that we disable the filter so he would not have to ever manage it and it took just 2 days after his request for it to be escalated to a system administrator who bypassed the entire system for him.

Mike was with us since 2002 and common sense would dictate that if we were as horrible as he claims he would have canceled within a year and not stayed with us for 13 years before deciding to cancel.

I only wish he would have put as much effort into cooperating with our staff questions or reading instructions as he did to complain on this review.

We care very much for the well-being of our customers and always try to help above and beyond the normal. We don’t claim to be perfect, but one thing I can promise is we have the highest integrity and treat our customers the way we would want to be treated which is why we can not permit this accusation to go unanswered.

Moderator please close this thread and bar his ip from making further false accusations against our firm.
