I rented a bare server where I ran my own twitter software. No problem, nothing illegal. Apparently, their firewall security is lacking which again, apparently, lead to my Windows server being hacked (0-day?) and Edge sending out mysterious network traffic.

Now it really begins... They say they sent 3 notification emails to warn me (THEY WERE NOT SENT DESPITE THEIR JOKES suggesting I should just ask Gmail). Even then, if I had received them... Chances were I would miss them.

Then it goes on. They will plug the internet of your machine to see if that triggers my attention (it does not; they are legit twitter bots, I won't immediately notice it if anything is wrong). Up to now, all legit enough. BUT THEN THEY WIPE THE WHOLE SERVER WITH ALL MY DATA AND THE BACKUP OF IT ON A SPARE DISK. TAKING WITH THEM *all* MY SOFTWARE, IT'S SETTINGS AND THE MYSQL DATA! AND THEN THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU STORE CREDIT FOR THE REMAINDER OF YOUR FUNDS! I HAD A 2 YEAR CONTRACT FOR 1000 USD!

It is ILLEGAL and UNPROFESSIONAL to wipe a customer's server data WHICH IS PAID FOR!

I'm now banned from their support too. Repeating the same questions and addressing the same problems EVEN IF YOU DON'T GET A REPLY AND IF THEY DON'T ADDRESS THE VALID PROBLEMS THEY CAUSE apparently makes you an "annoying" customer... THEY KILLED MY BUSINESS!! BY WIPING DATA THAT'S NOT THEIRS!
The customer has not responded to our multi-level warning system. If the customer does not solve Abuses and continues to violate TOS, any provider has the right to disable the service. This also means that the data will be deleted. The service claim expires in the event of persistent violations of TOS. Here we were even very generous, there were 3 Abuses received, which we forwarded.

Even if the customer did not receive them, in this case his server was suspended for 10min, 1h and last for 24h.

But even after the 24h suspension we didn't get any reaction. The customer acted at least negligently, if not deliberately.

It is a customary principle in the industry that if the TOS is violated (here even several times), the services are terminated. This means that the data will also be deleted.

However, this customer does not want to understand this and has been discussing it with us for days. It would have made more sense to react to the abuses and not to discuss them afterwards.

The customer has received a proportionate refund of the terminated server on his customer credit and can order a new server at any time under observance of our TOS.

Instead he threatens us with bad evaluations for his own misdemeanours (apparently he also did not make any backups, which is also the responsibility of the customer).

For the protection of other providers we will now add the customer in the Fraudrecord database.
