I have hosted a website with Hostbaby since around 2004 or 2005. I haven't hosted with anyone else so I can't really compare -- but I have always been very happy with Hostbaby and had no need to find any other service.
The interface is ridiculously easy to use even if you don't know a lick of HTML or CSS -but you can add customized programming if you like. The features have gotten better and better over the years. Just when I am starting to think "I really wish they would add this feature" it seems they do it.
Although they offer a number of pre-fab templates and designs (which I used for quite awhile) it is also completely customizable for advanced users. I use the "Wizard" with one of the most basic templates, but have been able to tweak it so that our site does not look "canned".
I have seen lower prices for hosting, but I don't know if they include the same powerful email list management that is included with Hostbaby. I have looked into email management systems alone, and it seemed to me that the pricing on those was comparable to what I pay for web hosting and email management combined. Of course there are free services also, but as they say, "you get what you pay for". I have no problem paying $20/mo. for Hostbaby because I feel I am getting great value for the money.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with Hostbaby, and unless they change for the worse I expect I will remain a loyal customer for years to come.
