Worst Hosting Provider Ever!

Like some of the other reviewers have posted here, efree2net is HIGHLY UNRELIABLE, and when you ask for help they are RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNCLEAR -- if they bother to respond at all.

For the last several weeks they have REFUSED my requests for tech support, simply ignoring my trouble ticket requests. They won't even reply when it's about SECURITY ISSUES on their own servers! I have never seen a business that treated its customers so poorly. Efree2net must be the worst hosting provider in the world.

Backstory: it wasn't always this bad. I have been with them for almost twenty years, and most of the time they tried their best, such as it was. Sure, their servers are slow and lock up from time to time, and sometimes they couldn't make certain features work right and would just give up trying, and they don't monitor their servers so when they go down you have to be the one who notices and alerts them. But their prices are low and I wasn't running any mission-critical websites anyway, so I adapted.

To illustrate: when I first signed on with them (it must have been somewhere in the 1997-1999 timeframe) I purchased a reseller account for $29.95/mo (plus an extra dollar or so charged by my bank for currency exchange) thinking that I might actually be able to host other people's websites for a little extra income. Unfortunately the administrative interface they use on their Windows machines is garbageware called Hosting Controller with so many broken features that at least half the time you go to use it you have to submit a trouble ticket instead and ask tech support to make something work instead. Except it's not always possible to tell if Hosting Controller is the direct problem or something else, so early on I would always ask them in my trouble tickets to tell me what the problem was and how they fixed it, hoping to learn to be able to support my future customers. But NEVER ONCE would they explain what the problem traced back to or how they fixed it, they'd just say 'we have fixed it for you'. That of course made it impossible to actually become a reseller through them, as I realized that if I tried I would quickly become an intermediary spending all my time passing trouble tickets back and forth between my customers and efree2net tech support. So scratch the reseller idea.

And that baloney you'll see on this page from someone named Jackson Lee saying "We never rude to our customers, because all of our customers are our kings. We have responded all tickets and support email within 6 hours"? A fix in only 6 hours is RARE, they typically take 3 or 4 days to answer a support request! Just like "We never rude to our customers" is baloney too. And "our customers are our kings?" REALLY? IS THAT WHY YOU WON'T EVEN REPLY TO MY REQUESTS FOR HELP?

The bad reviews from 2006 and 2009 on this page which also refer to efree2net's rudeness and unprofessionalism suggest that this company's bad attitudes flow from the top down and are not likely to change. The company's servers are located in the U.S. but the rude and unprofessional management apparently originates in Maylaysia. (BTW to the Admin of whtop.com, the phone number they have provided you, 1 530 685 6530, is nonfunctional). For a while I thought maybe I had violated some kind of cultural issue with them, but even my apologies if I had done so went unanswered. Clearly, efree2net is run by somebody who shouldn't be interacting with the public, and who is contemptuous of his customers. The 'domain trend' graph on this page showing an almost 30% drop of supported domains from 2013 to 2015 clearly reflects the results of their poor service.

Only a blithering fool would waste their time and money on efree2net. You've been warned!
