After having a server in the US for over 15 years, migrated to Canadian Web Hosting in 2019. 3 hard drive issues in 3 years, 1 per year on average. They "recycle" the old hard drives unless you ask for "brand-new" hard drives, which I did when ordering their "top-of-the-line" server in late 2020. 4 months in and my "new" server had a bad hardware RAID-1 controller. Burnt itself out of commission, and corrupted the primary OS drive. Server was completely offline for over 36 hours, had to wait for them to setup a new one, loaded up the backup drive (not on RAID, so it got sparred from the corruption) which took another half a day for them due to wrong drivers. Plus half a day more for them to restore the backups (yes, it was not a straight-forward setup, but I had instructions for them). Now I am losing clients because of all these outages in 3 years, with this last one the final straw for them to find new homes.

What do Canadian Web Hosting offered me in compensation?? Just one month off for the server. Like I can even afford this server with half of my hosting clients gone. Once things settled I am leaving too.
