No Warning Suspension and No Reactivation Even After “Incident Resolved”
I prepaid for a 1-year server with AlexHost and my service was suspended suddenly with zero prior warning or notification. I was never informed in advance and wasn’t given a chance to investigate or remediate anything before they took the server offline.
When I contacted support, they said their system does not notify customers about service suspensions. That is a serious problem for any hosting company, especially for annual prepaid customers.
They claimed the suspension was caused by a Netcraft incident and told me the only way to restore service is to contact Netcraft and have the incident marked as false-positive/removed. I followed the process and Netcraft now shows “Incident Resolved” for the incident, meaning the reported issue is no longer active. Despite this, AlexHost still refuses to reactivate my server and insists the report must be removed/changed in a specific way.
This creates an unfair and potentially endless downtime situation, because Netcraft may take weeks to respond and does not always delete incident entries even after resolution. AlexHost knows this, yet they use it as a reason to keep a paid service offline. Since refunds are not offered, the customer is left paying for an unusable server.
I do not recommend AlexHost due to the lack of communication, poor escalation process, and unreasonable reactivation policy.
