Terrible, dishonest, lame service.

I am a web developer and I recommended 3iX to customers who were looking for very inexpensive hosting, as $1 per month is indeed not much. However, recently my client asked to do a more complicated site also using SSL security. I had some issues and tried to resolve them with tech support - which was real pain. Very slow responses, bad English (probably outsourced service), and very little of actual help.
Trying to resolve my problems I noticed that 3iX recently made some changes, which made me confused - many web sites, different company names, really a labyrinth of channels to navigate through. Their main (outdated looking) page is 3iX.org. then you get redirected to support-billing.com then you get to fast-host.com to deal with support, yet your site is hosted yet somewhere else, and cPanel just hangs in cyberspace between all of it. Not very convenient and kind of fishy. But real problems started when I tried to setup SSL security. After many back-and-forth, support told me that to have my certificate installed I need to pay them extra fee of $17 - something which is free with most providers, and they don't tell you it costs more beforehand. My client seeing how slow progress we are making asked me to cancel the account. 3iX advertises 30-days guarantee of refund - no questions asked - and it was just some 10 days. I requested refund through email - using email address of "Alison" who sent me welcome email from support. It bounced back as unavailable! I re-sent it to support email shown on one of their sites. Also bounced back! Did not look very promising, but I opened a support ticket. After a few days wait I received response asking many questions (they advertise no questions asked!) and saying they will improve the service. I responded that my client at this point wants the guaranteed refund and closing the account ASAP. Since then - nothing. When I send a reminder to close account and issue refund - I only receive (after a few days) message saying:
We apologize for the delay in replying to your ticket.
A support manager has been notified and your ticket has been escalated.
You will receive an email with an updated response shortly.
It is now almost a month and I can't get it resolved. Recently they don't even bother sending this stupid message, but just send back empty message - which probably pushes my ticked down the list as "responded to".
I tried the same thing with support, billing, and sales. the same story. They simply don't want to refund this, and don't give a damn about my client's experience.
I feel ashamed I recommended 3iX to her, and will tell all my clients to stay out. It feels like a scam, disrespectful, cynical operation with no intention to provide any satisfactory level of service. I opened account for my client somewhere else, for $3,95 a months (for 3 domains). what a difference. Courtesy, knowledgeable support, all works as it should... No more 3iX for me, and I hope my review will save many people looking for a deal. This is not a deal, it is scam.
