Nov 5, 2003 : Terremark's NAP Expands IDC Operations

📅 November 5, 2003 - Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (terremark.com ), an operator of integrated Tier-1 Network Access Points (NAP), announced today that it has signed a lease to expand the NAP of the Americas to the third floor of the Technology Center of the Americas (TECOTA) facility, giving it an additional 149,184 square feet of data center space.

"We are very excited with this new opportunity to expand the footprint of our flagship carrier-neutral Tier-1 NAP," said Manuel D. Medina, chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc. "This expansion, together with our previously announced opening of the NAP of the Americas/West, is designed to accommodate our anticipated growth in the public and private sectors."
The company said the additional space allows Terremark to operate and customize build-outs for large customers.
"Terrremark's expansion into the third floor of TECOTA enhances the unique advantages of the project, further demonstrating the state-of-the-art nature of the facility and its unmatched connectivity opportunities," said P.J. The Technology Center of the Americas (TECOTA), a 750,000 square foot data center, is located in downtown Miami.

📅 Feb 9, 2009 - Terremark Delays Building in Santa Clara - Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com ) announced on Monday it has decided to delay the building of a data center in Santa Clara, California, focusing its development budget dollars instead on its data center in Virginia, the NAP of the Capital Region, according to a report by Data Center Knowledge.

The company says it is seeing significant demand for colocation and managed hosting services at the Culpeper, Virginia facility.
