Mar 16, 2004 : ProServe Expands Into Belgian Market

📅 March 16, 2004 - Netherlands-based Web hosting provider ProServe (proserve.nl) is expanding its presence into Belgium, the company announced on Tuesday.

The company said the move occurred in two stages. The first phase consisted of connecting to BNIX (Belgian Nation Internet Exchange), followed by a move to a colocation facility operated by LCL Telehousing (lcl.be) in Diegem, Belgium.
"We wish to be close to our customers and when we noticed that our existing Belgian customers brought more and more servers to our data center in Amsterdam, we decided that it could be interesting to install an own colocation center in Brussels," says Gerben van der Veen, managing director of ProServe. "After having established the wishes and requirements of these customers we examined the possibilities and we will be offering our services in Belgium from the end of March."
Gerben van der Veen added that the company has invested in new equipment to facilitate a level of service on par with that being offered in the Netherlands.
ProServe's 2,000 servers currently host more than 150,000 Web sites.
