📅 April 29, 2004 - Teros (teros.com) released Secure Application Gateway earlier this week, a security appliance that the company says is the industry's first to provide unified protection for both traditional Web applications and Web services. Teros Gateway appliances are deployed directly in the data path of application traffic and block attacks not detected by network-based firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.

The latest version of the appliance contains XML security capabilities, allowing organizations to safely use Web services without having to deploy and manage a separate security infrastructure. The Teros Gateway features advanced application learning, identity theft protection and application-layer attack defenses.
"By adding Web services security to our gateways, which already provide industry-leading protection for web applications, Teros is delivering the single most requested capability by our customers and resellers," says Bob Walters, president and CEO of Teros. "Both of these groups have told us they want a single security infrastructure that can secure both their Web applications and Web services. We are the first vendor to meet both these requirements in a single appliance."
Teros will be demonstrating the appliance at the Infosecurity Europe Conference.
