May 12, 2004 : Opsware Under Standards Evaluation
📅 - Data center automation software developer Opsware (opsware.com) said on Tuesday that the Opsware system is the first automation solution currently being evaluated under the US Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme, a security standard for information and software products that many US government agencies now require before purchasing security products. Products "in evaluation" are also permitted to be purchased.
"Common Criteria is a key purchasing factor for government agencies," says Peter Thorp, vice president of government sales for Opsware Inc. "As first in our category to pursue Common Criteria evaluation, Opsware demonstrates our commitment to the government IT market, and gives customers further assurance of Opsware's best of breed security capabilities." According to Opsware, validation under the standard will acknowledge that its products comply with the highest security standards, boosting customer confidence.
